It Never Fails

In Creative on February 9, 2011 at 8:37 am

Every morning, I mistake the chipped plaster on my kitchen wall for a stink bug.  Whenever I reach into the cupboard for my box of cereal, it catches my eye in the early morning light and shoots adrenaline into my bloodstream.  I jump back with a gasp only to remember that it’s a harmless ol’ chunk of missing wall.

Some days I fall on my butt in the kitchen.  Some days I accidentally hit my head.  Some days I stay on my feet, and one time I only flinched.  But it never fails that I am too chicken-shit to kill a figment of my imagination. The plaster chip will haunt me until I move.
